Delete my account and data

You can request full deletion of your TranslationTone account and the data associated with it at any time, without signing in. This page explains how to request it and what happens after.

How to request deletion

Email us at the address below from the email account associated with your TranslationTone account (or from any address if you have lost access). The email does not need a specific subject or body — the button below pre-fills a message with the minimum info we need.

What gets deleted

When we process your request, the following are removed from our primary systems:

  • Your user account (name, email, phone number, profile photo).
  • Your voice profile (the audio recordings of the emotion baselines you made).
  • Your messages — text, voice, photos, and videos sent and received.
  • Your contacts list.
  • Your push notification tokens and app configuration.
  • Your preferences (language, voice engine, quiet hours, etc.).

What we retain

Some data may remain for a limited time for operational or legal reasons:

  • Server logs with your IP address: up to 30 days, for diagnostics and security.
  • Backup copies: up to 90 days, after which they are overwritten.
  • Financial records (transactions, receipts): the period required by applicable tax law, typically 7 years. This data lives in Stripe / Google Play systems and does not contain the content of your messages.

How long it takes

We process requests manually, usually within 72 hours of receipt. Full deletion from primary systems completes within 30 days. We will confirm by email once it is done.

This is irreversible

Once the request is processed, we cannot recover your messages, voice profile, or history. If you only want to stop receiving notifications, consider muting contacts or uninstalling the app — those are reversible.

Partial deletion (without closing your account)

Don't want to close your account, but do want to delete some of your data? You can do most of this yourself inside the app without contacting us:

  • Individual messages: long-press the message (Android) or use the "⋯" menu (web) and choose "Delete". "Delete for everyone" also removes it from the recipient's device; "Delete for me" only hides it on your side.
  • Voice profile: in Settings → Voice profile you can delete each emotion recording, or all of them at once.
  • Voice corpus contribution: in Settings → Privacy, turn off "Help improve TranslationTone with my voice." Turning it off deletes every corpus copy we have for your account.
  • Translation feedback contribution: same Privacy section — turn off feedback contribution to delete the existing feedback rows we have from you.
  • Profile photo: in Settings → Account you can remove it.
  • Your phone number: in Settings → Account you can clear it (people will no longer be able to find you by number).
